As I collected more spare parts for my HobbyKing Color 250 quad I came to a point where making a conversion would be relatively easy. So my research into hexacopter frame began. What could my Hovership 2204 motors handle? Could I use a 330mm hex frame or was I limited to a 250 class? After a couple weeks of researching and decision making, I decided on an RD290 frame. Its still in the same class as a 250 quad and only about 80 grams more for AUW.
Here is my photo progress...
Next was to break down the ESCs and trim some weight off. When I got them I just used the included cables and barrel connectors. Now was the time to trim them down before reusing them.
